At approximately 0700 local time on 11 December 2017, 27-year-old Akayed Ullah detonated a low-sophistication improvised explosive device (IED) at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City. Ullah suffered wounds to his torso and hands; two bystanders suffered headaches and ringing ears.
